Making their return to the University of Delaware stage in a celebration of a cappella music is the world-renowned Swingles! For more than half a century, the group has pushed the boundaries of vocal music, and the current seven members are no exception. The group began in 1963 to sing Bach’s keyboard music, and since then have grown into fame that includes five Grammy awards, more than fifty recordings, and numerous guest appearances on film and TV soundtracks. We are honored to be included as one of the few presenters during their 2021 North American tour.
By featuring this world-renowned group, we hope to honor the many resident student organizations and a cappella groups at the University of Delaware for their wonderful artistic activities promoting campus morale. This concert also serves as a homecoming celebration for Swingles member Jon Smith, whose time at UD influenced a cappella culture on campus. Mr. Smith is arguably the most successful UD music alumnus in recent history.
Make sure to get your tickets early and join us in honoring a cappella and the artistic achievements of UD students with what is sure to be a jaw-dropping performance of vocal virtuosity.
Ticket information to be announced in late Summer 2020. Livestreaming option will be available.
