We want to extend a very warm welcome to all of you for the 17th season of the University of Delaware's Master Players Concert Series — one that will undoubtedly be remembered for its unique format and, as always, its outstanding performances by so many talented artists.
We are so excited about this year's series — re-stART @ Home — because it embodies two essential facets of the University of Delaware's character. The first is resilience, the determination to adapt and persevere in the face of hardship. Despite the well-known health challenges facing our world right now, Founding Artistic Director Xiang Gao and his whole team have put together an innovative program of concerts and storytelling for the upcoming season. Their creativity, which audiences usually see only on stage, has been instrumental in crafting this year's performances and delivery.
The series also is a testament to the University community's abiding commitment to the arts and the humanities. Even in light of the many obstacles facing MPCS this season, we all know that the need for uplifting music, compelling stories and stirring performances is greater now than ever before. When so many of us must be physically distant from our friends and families, we desperately need to connect with each other through a shared experience. Truly, we cannot think of a better way than through music and story.
As we enjoy this unprecedented season, we are so glad that you will be with us, remembering the immense power and enduring impact of great art.
