Saturday, March 14, 2020 - Gore Recital Hall - 3 P.M.
Join a renowned musical family for an evening of chamber music! Aaron Berofsky and Kathryn Votapek, former longtime members of the legendary Chester String Quartet, are joined by their award-winning sons, pianist and composer Charles and cellist Sebastian.
The Chester String Quartet, acclaimed as “one of the country’s best young string quartets” by the Boston Globe, has toured worldwide and has participated in numerous commissions and recordings as the former resident quartet at the University of Michigan and at Indiana University South Bend. Ms. Votapek also comes from a large family of musicians. Father Ralph was the gold medalist of the first Van Cliburn International Piano Competition and her brothers and mother are both accomplished professional musicians as well. The family members will perform music by Mozart, Moszkowski, and a piano quartet composed by Charles Berofsky.
