“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” – Bob Marley
Music has long been associated with the healing arts. From the surgeon who listens to classical music in the operating room to improve concentration and focus, to the new mother who relies on her favorite playlist to ease the pains of labor, humans find a special power in music to comfort and heal. In celebration of this special relationship between healing and music, we are pleased to announce the inaugural Master Players @ Christiana Care, an in-hospital concert series co-presented by the University of Delaware Master Players and Christiana Care Health System. These free concerts for hospital patients, visitors and caregivers will run from October 2018 through April 2019. They will feature guest artists from Master Players’ past, current and future seasons performing a variety of musical genres, including folk, jazz, world and holiday music. We look forward to this exciting partnership, as Christiana Care and the Master Players join together in caring for our neighbors. The free of charge MPCC public concerts on the campus of Christiana Hospital between October and April will feature guest artists Master Players selects from our past, current and future seasons.
