Sunday, May 3, 2020 - Gore Recital Hall - 3 P.M.
A notorious perfectionist, Johannes Brahms was known to have burned many of his compositions that he considered unsatisfactory. Rising from the ashes are his three sonatas for violin and piano, which by virtue of their survival bear the approval of Brahms himself. Accompanied by world-renowned collaborative pianist Martin Katz, Master Players director Xiang Gao will be joined by newly appointed UD faculty violinists Guillaume Combet and Elicia Silverstein to finish our season with a performance of all three sonatas that will showcase their love for the instrument. Come listen to these perfect compositions the master left us as they are interpreted in their own way by UD’s master violinists.
