Great Musical Families: The Ahn Trio

Saturday, February 18 3:00 p.m. Gore Recital Hall, Center for the Arts

The Ahn Trio

"Exacting and exciting musicians." – The LA Times

Estimated Duration: 120 minutes including a 15-minute intermission

After many successful presentations of legendary musical families, Master Players proudly presents the Ahn Trio. Born in Seoul, Korea and educated at

the Juilliard School, the members of the Ahn Trio—sisters Maria, Lucia and Angella—are redefining chamber music, breathing new life into the standard piano trio literature with commissioned works from contemporary visionary composers. The sisters will perform the Leonard Bernstein piano trio, a piece based on a traditional Korean folk song and exciting new music arranged and composed for them. For more than a decade, the Ahns have fused their work with that of dancers, pop singers, DJs, electronic music artists, visual artists, photographers, lighting designers and ecologists. The trio's latest CD, Lullaby for My Favorite Insomniac, made No. 8 on the Billboard charts in the United States.

In collaboration with Joanne Rile Artist Management, the Ahn Trio is in high demand, performing and leading master classes across the United States and around the world. Wherever the Ahns go, they share their innovative spirit and ever-evolving vision of music.

From 1:30-2:30 p.m. a pre-concert Korean cultural presentation in Puglisi Orchestra Hall is open to the public free of charge.

A free-of-charge master class with the Ahn Trio will be held in Gore Recital Hall from 1:25-2:15 p.m. on Friday, February 17.

This concert is co-sponsored and co-presented by the Korean American Association of Delaware, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Korean School of Delaware.

Master Players gently reminds you that Gore Recital Hall only seats 200.
